ARMSTRONG STATION
Armstrong Station is a new musical currently in development. Co-written by Mark Larsen (book & lyrics) and Tom Shaw (music), the show is set in San Francisco's Castro District in 1981, just before the onset of HIV/AIDS. A song-driven memory play, it follows a group of friends navigating love, ambition, and community at a pivotal moment in the neighborhood's history. The songs are authentic artifacts, written by Mark and Tom in 1981–82 and newly woven into a contemporary theatrical narrative. The writers are currently exploring staged reading and workshop opportunities.
A full set of development materials is available for interested collaborators, including a script with embedded links to fully arranged song demos, a SoundCloud playlist in show order, a three-page synopsis, and even a pre-show playlist of disco/dance versions of the songs for a full sense of the world.
